In The Crossfire

From Larry Goodman:

A civil suit has been filed against Crossfire Entertainment LLC and promoter Marcus Pastorious for failure to repay a $20,000 loan provided as funding for Crossfire Wrestling events.

The suit, filed by Adam Will, Pastorious' employer at Red Rooster Bar & Music, alleges that Pastorious failed to pay back with interest as promised by the due date of December 10, 2012.

A source with knowledge of the matter states that Pastorius/Crossfire Entertainment LLC owes in excess of $60,000 to various individuals. In an email to Crossfire personnel that was later made posted on the Mid-Southern Wrestling Message Board, Pastorius apologized for still not having the funds to pay talent for Crossfire's January 5 event. Several wrestlers have stated to GWH that they received postdated checks on the night of the show.

Crossfire announcer Aaron Camaro came out swinging with a colorful defense of the promotion on the Mid-Southern Wrestling Message Board, stating that the March 9 event with DDP and Jake Roberts as the featured stars would go on as scheduled.

Over the past two years, Crossfire events at the Nashville Fairgrounds have routinely drawn crowds of over 1000 featuring stacked cards and appearances by pricey stars such as Bret Hart and Roddy Piper. In August 2012, Pastorius announced that Crossfire had a national television deal. Tickets prices for the January event were $30 for Gold Circle (front row), $15 VIP and $10 general admission with $2 from each ticket going to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Middle Tennessee.  The speculation is that Crossfire's expenses, which now include television production, have been exceeding the gate, putting Pastorius in the position of scrambling for sponsors to fund operations.

  2. Actually Larry, every since the 8/4/12 show, which is 3 shows ago, they have charged $30 for gold circle which is the front row. With an 1000 average in attendance the gate would be $13200.[The don't always draw 1000, the low would be around 750] You take away the $2 a ticket for Make-A-Wish & your gate drops to $11200. With some of the talent they bring in there can't be much of a profit margin if any. I would say the fairgrounds get concessions & parking & the wrestlers get their gimmicks. I don't see CF selling many shirts or DVD's so I just can't see them continuing to keep doing this unless there is a windfall coming from the TV deal the keep teasing with very little info.

  3. Thank you for the correction on the VIP tickets, I'll update the post accordingly. Your estimate of the gate is about what I was figuring.
